Seneca Environmental Services – Des Moines hires new Director of Compliance Testing Services
(Des Moines, IA – March 7, 2022) – Seneca Companies Environmental Consulting and Compliance, known for environmental consulting, due diligence, Phase I and Phase II site assessments, UST and AST tank removal, and soil and groundwater sampling, is pleased to announce Mark Shirley as director of compliance testing services.
“We at Seneca are extremely excited that Mark has joined the team. I have known Mark personally for 20 years and the new services he is bringing to the table will be integral to providing our petroleum customers the best experience possible,” said Chris Biellier.
“Mark has been known throughout the industry in providing underground storage tank compliance, as well as testing and inspection services. Our new compliance testing and inspection services department will be offering such services as tank & line testing and leak detection field services throughout Seneca’s multi state coverage. These services will complement our containment testing services started in early 2021. Seneca’s compliance testing services will be utilizing Leighton O’Brien (LOB) patent technology through its partnership with LOB. This new expansion further exemplifies Seneca’s motto of “The Complete Solution” and fulfillment of our retail and commercial petroleum customers compliance needs.”
Mark has accepted a newly created position of director of compliance testing services within the Seneca Environmental Services Division. Mark will head up our new tank & line testing, leak detection testing services, containment & compliance inspection services and will aid in the expansion of our recently created dri-sump containment testing which had a successful launch in 2021. Mark is known throughout the industry and brings with him 37 years of experience in the petroleum industry. His experience began in 1984 when he owned and operated a retail and bulk fuel business for 7 years. In 1990 he founded Shirley Environmental Testing which provided UST compliance testing on a national level and was the largest tracer research leak detection affiliate with offices in California, Arizona, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Georgia until he ended the business after 18 years in 2008. Then in 2008 he formed Compliance Testing and Technology and was co-owner until 2017 providing UST compliance services again on a national level. From 2019 until recently, he was the testing & compliance manager for Jones Covey Group, Inc. until joining Seneca.
